OK so heres the deal I moved to a new town and im starting high school. Last year I homeschooled myself and scored in the high 90's in just about everything but my mom said that I have no friends and I need a social life so I have to go to hs...unfortunately. So I have no idea what to do because its not like elementary school do I still bring a backpack? pens? notebooks? what????? im so confused. And when I get there I have no idea what classes to go to. The school is huge and I got lost during the orientation! I have no friends to help me and people dont talk to me for some reason so I need advice. Like do they have an assembly and give you a schedule of your classes for 8th garde like what?????? Please helpI need advice/tips about high school?
i went to private school till 8th then started public high school not knowing anybody. not gonna answer your policy questions cause its prob diff everywhere, but socially, i was lucky enough to make a clique of friends on the 1st day. i'd say look for people you know you'd fit in with, find a way to talk to the leader of the group, and during that talk, laugh sincerely at all their jokes. everybody likes someone who thinks they're funny.I need advice/tips about high school?
You do bring a backpack, pens, pencil, notebook(binder is better with the tabs), plus a few notebooks.

A couple days before school, go up there and try to find your classes.

Because if you wait until the day you start, you will be very late and confused --- trust me. lol

Plus, it gives you a chance to kind of get used to it.

But, everything looks different with kids all over the place.
Well, yeah you still need the school stuff.

Backpack

Pens/pencil

Notebook/Paper

Binder

Usually teachers have a handout on the first day of school that tells you what you need for that class. So, on the first day, just bring a backpack and like maybe a notebook or two and some pens and pencils. And then you can get the stuff that you need later on.

And as for your schedule, I thought they would have given it to you during your orientation? That's what they did with mine anyways. Just call the school and ask for info on how you're supposed to get your schedule or whatever.

You also might try getting to school a little early when you get your schedule and just try to see where your classes are.
