Hi,
I have a friend who is getting pet mice, how often do they breed and how much babies do they have? My friend was just wondering.
Because she may breed them, any tips on breeding?Pet mice..... and any other advice/tips?
Mice are fertile every 3-4 days. Are pregnant for 20-21 days. And are VERY fertile as soon as they give birth so if you keep the male and female together she will most likely have a litter every 21 days or so as long as both are interested in breeding.
~Awww thats sweet! Haha i remember me and my friends did that when we where younger and we let the mice go. We just let them loose at a park. LOL
~Thats cool. If you don't mind me asking what are they breeding them for? just curious.
~ Oh thats good. A Mice Breeder, thats different :) lol. hopefully that never has to happen. Spotted python wow there beautiful!Pet mice..... and any other advice/tips?
DONT BREED. There are a lot of mice outthere that need homes as it is. Besides, mice they sell at snake food stores come from breeding mills and dont have good genetics....which puts mom AND babies at risk for health issues or dieing young (even as pinkies).
Not to mention that mice can have up to 20 babies and go into heat again and can get pregnant again within 24 hours of giving birth...so do the math there. PLUS they MUST be separated by sex by the age of 4 weeks old you'll have even more mice. AND male mice, once they hit young adulthood should be kept alone as they will fight...sometimes to death.
And finding proper homes for mice is not as easy as you'd think. Take it from someone who deals with rodent rescue.
Mice smell pretty badly i suggest getting a rat!!
I agree with the person who said 'DONT BREED!';
wikipedia it
We'll i'd say that mice are lov
