so, next year i will have graduated 8th grade and i'll be 13. i already called the piercing place.... they said it would be fine if both my parents came with me....

So where's the best place to buy nose studs/rings? What are the different types of nose accessories? what are some precautions i should take?

p.s. go fly a kite if your here to tell me i'm too young!

i'm planning to get it on the side of my left nostrilNose Piercing? Tips? Personal Expierence? Advice?
If you want something really nice go to a jewellery store, they usually have nice ones with stones in them at regular prices. I worked at a jewellery store and they have alot of different ones, like snakes and the eyes were diamonds (that was about 59.95 tho) it just depends, also make sure you like it before you buy it because they don't have returns on body piercing jewellery.Nose Piercing? That's actually quite exciting that you'll be able to do that!

Personally, I believe the best places to go for buying studs and rings are the piercing studios because they take extra care to make sure they're only selling the highest quality metals for their jewelry. This matters quite a bit. Granted, you might pay a little bit more here, but most places have a good variety and it's worth it.

I would say to avoid Claire's or The Icing because they sell cheaply made jewelry and I've heard many stories about bad experiences with jewelry (body jewelry included) from those places.

Make sure you know (and remember) what gauge your piercing is when you get it. That's something you'll have to know later when you go to purchase jewelry.

Oh! If you want easily changeable jewelry, go for a stud because most rings cannot/should not be changed at home.

For studs, there are different styles as to how they attach or sit in your nostril. My sister has a stud and she has found she likes the ';screw'; style, but it's really a personal preference.

Good luck!
only allow the professional to pierce it. only hurts the first day but may be a little red for a bit longer. he should give you a paper with care instructions. usually gently washing area a couple times a day after its done is about it. DO NOT change out the nose ring for one of the store ones until it is completely healed, usually a few weeks. when they first pierce it, they will probably use a curved loopy type ring it stays in better. once it heals you can get the silver ones at claires or shops like that. there are studs which are just the stick with a little gemstone or something cute, but nothing on the inside of the nostril. i usually get the 3 pack of cheap stud noserings from walmart. the stones will fall out even on the expensive ones. dont waste money on the clear plastic retainer pieces, a centimeter of fishing line works if you have to take out the ring for school or anything.
I'm not going to tell you you're too young, but flying a kite sounds like fun. Anyway, keep it clean (both sides), don't over clean it (two to three times a day is sufficient), don't play with it, be mindful of it when you blow your nose. That's all stuff your piercer will tell you.

Oh, one important thing, make sure it's there when you wake up in the mornings! I know that sounds stupid, but I've woken up with it half out or completely missing and didn't notice until hours later.

Don't buy nose jewelry in claire's or icing. They're cheap and (i may just have sensitive skin) they made my nose itch a lot. I, personally, prefer the screws to the studs. They all look like little jewels in your nose, but, if I'm not mistaken, the screws are bars that are bent or curved and the studs are just shorter bars with a ball on one end. I think the screws feel more secure.
most malls have body jewlery places

and stuff but i think you can just use an earing

or the peircing place might have them
if yer a chick....

if its really small its really cute

it cant be big at all or else its pretty ugly

make sure its no where as big as yer ear rings

if yer a guy....

i dunno

=P
i find nose rings distasteful but the studs are cute
my mom got a nose ring- what i can say it didnt go well
I had mine done when I was fifteen. You can buy pretty much any studs/rings at the parlor... and I definitley recommend that! DO NOT go to some store like Claire's to get body jewelry. It often makes people get infections, etc. Just ask your piercer when you go. You will be able to pick what kind of jewelry you want. I would advise you to get a stud without the back on it. It's too painful and difficult to get one that you have to put a back on. Check out the links below... they show pictures of the stud/rings I would recommend.

Good Luck! I hope you like it.

P.s.

When you get your nostril pierced almost EVERYONE gets a wierd little bump around the piercing. This is just your skin trying to push the piercing out and heal. For this, you need to get Tea Tree Oil. This oil will take the bump away and heal it correctly.

If you have any other questions.. you can just ask me. : )
