Need advice/tips on weaning my baby slowly from the breast?

I want to start weaning my baby so that she'll be off the breast completely by 6 months old (she's 3 months old now).

I already have made some research and got the ok from my pediatrician and ob/gyn. However, I'd love to get any tips from mothers that have done this already.

Also, when I start dropping breast feedings with bottle feedings, do I pump in substitution for that feeding that I won't be giving, or don't pump at all?

Due to serious complications I had during labor, my milk production has been very low, and unfortunately my baby wasn't thriving with breastmilk alone, so I had to always use formula since she was born.

Thanks!

Hi, I had a difficult labour and ended up having a C-section. Since birth I've had to give her mixed feeding as my milk came in on the 7th day after she was born. I tried as much as possible to give her breastmilk and then topped it up with formula. By the time she was 4 and a half months old my daughter wouldn't take from my breast so I had no choice but to express into a bottle for her. I think you will find sooner or later your baby will not want the breast as its easier for them to suck from the bottle. Hope my experience helps. I have to say I was gutted when she wouldn't take from my breast anymore. xNeed advice/tips on weaning my baby slowly from the breast?
That is awesome of you to still nurse even though you know that she also needs formula. Most women would just say screw it and just formula feed. Any amount of breast milk is a huge plus for your baby.

Yes you do definitely need to pump even if your offering formula, otherwise your supply will drop very quickly and then its hard to get it back up again. If i were you i would pump every 2 -3 hours (unlessthat'ss unrealistic for your schedule) even if your daughterdoesn'tt want it then. Also try fenugreek. That was what people on here told me to do for my low supply and so far its working wonders! You can buy it at any health store ( like a GNC).
